Shape Upâ¦look Attractive With Liposuction in India
Flabby, overweight, fat, obese are the adjectives most of us hate to get associated with. Being overweight not only leads to further health complications but also has certain psychological implications. Overweight people are more prone to cardiovascular disorders and increased mortality. On the other hand they also face social discrimination in terms of employment as well as in relationships. Severely overweight or obese people are often subject to criticisms and ridicule. The best way to shape up and be healthy is to follow a proper diet and exercise regime. However, despite doing all that is needed to get back in shape, fat stored in certain parts of the body like the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, back of arms or any area as the case may be, can get difficult to get rid of. Such cases can then be treated with cosmetic surgeries that help one to get rid of that excess flab.
One such modern as well as very successful procedure is liposuction wherein fat from various parts of the body is surgically removed. The fat is removed via a hollow tube (cannula) and aspirator. The process of liposuction is also known as lipoplasty, fat modeling, liposculpture and suction lipectomy. Liposuction is neither an alternative to an exercise and diet program nor a weight loss method. Rather, itâs a body countering procedure that helps one reduce fat from specific body areas.
The evaluation of a patient to be considered eligible for a liposuction procedure is at the doctorâs discretion. A desirable candidate should be over eighteen years old and should be in good health. Those with diabetes, heart complications or circulation problems should not opt for this procedure.
Once the doctor approves the patientâs candidacy, the procedure is performed. As in the cases of most types of surgery, liposuction also requires anesthesia. A small or several small incisions are made through which the cannula is inserted into the fat layers of a particular area. The cannula then loosens the fat cells, which are suctioned out via a vacuum device. The operated area may or may not be stitched by the surgeon. However, due to the small size of the incisions, a surgeon might keep them open to drain out the excess fluid from a patientâs body. The clearing up of fluid in turn accelerates the healing process.
Liposuction is a popular and time-tested body contouring procedure. The cost of getting this surgery done in the United States or UK is steep and thus people residing in such places opt for offshore destinations. Countries like India boast of great medical facilities and doctors who offer similar services at a much lower rate. Such services coupled with a brief sightseeing tour have given rise to a phenomenon popularly known as medical tourism. So getting back to shape is not only easier with liposuction but also cost effective with countries such as India offering their demonstrated expertise at a lower cost.

Liposuction Helps People Reduce Fat
Liposuction is the process of removing fat deposits from underneath the skin of the body via a hollow stainless steel tube, which is called a cannula, with the help of an incredibly powerful vacuum. When having liposuction performed, most people have the procedure performed under general anesthesia but it can also be done with local anesthesia and heavy sedation with anesthesia through and IV. Liposuction is also referred to as lipoplasty, liposculpture and suction lipectomy. The procedure is a form of cosmetic surgery, which means that health insurance will not cover the expenses. So, anyone having this procedure performed will need to pay the couple thousand of dollars to have it performed out of their own pocket.Liposuction should never be used to replace dieting and regular exercise. When trying to lose weight, always attempt a healthy diet first paired with a regular exercise routine. Most people will find success in dieting and exercise and won’t need to have surgery performed to help remove excess fat. But, if diet and exercise do fail, the other option available is to have liposuction performed to remove those fatty deposits beneath the skin that seem to stick around even after a rigorous diet and exercise routine. Don’t give up on the diet and exercise quickly. Make sure these options are used for at least six months before deciding about surgery.Not many know this but doctors typically cannot remove more than 10 pounds at a time when performing an liposuction procedure. The amount of pounds that is removed is usually based on the doctor, the patient’s health, the method being used, and where that fat is being removed from on the body. Don’t forget; the more fat that is removed with this procedure, the lumpier the skin becomes. Also, if there is too much fat removed during the procedure, the patient’s body will have dents in it that will be noticeable to the naked eye. The most popular areas to have an liposuction performed on are the abdomen and the thighs of both men and women alike. This procedure can also be performed on the buttocks and the back but those areas are not as popular when it comes to removing unwanted fatty deposits. Once the fatty deposits are removed, the doctor must now contour the body to make sure it looks presentable. If the body is not contoured there will be loose and saggy skin, dents, and lumpy skin in the areas that had fat removed from them. To be a candidate for this procedure the patient should be at least 18 years or older, be in good general health, have tried dieting and exercise for more than six months, and find that there are still 10 or 15 pounds in certain pockets of the body that exercise just can’t remove. Anyone that has a heart condition, diabetes, an infection, or circulation problems will not be permitted by the doctor to have an liposuction procedure performed on their body. This procedure can run anywhere from $2,000-$7,000 each time.

Liposuction Surgery
Before getting any deeper, let’s first get to know what Liposuction is? Liposuction is a short-cut way to lose those extra pounds quickly. Nobody would want to lose weight by sweating. Everyone wants to look their best in shortest span of time. This surgery aims to remove those extra pounds from specific areas of your body such as buttocks, thighs, abdomen, and upper arms. Liposuction surgery is also known as liposculpture suction lipectomy. The surgery helps to remove extra fat deposits called bulges of fats from human body parts which no longer can be removed by diet or exercise. In medical terms, it’s a surgical way to remove extra fat cells through a stainless steel tube also known as the cannula. This type of surgery was first performed in 1974. Since then, lots of improvements have been made in this field making this surgery very effective and safe. It is also becoming very popular because of many satisfied customers. Surgery results vary from person to person because of individual factors such as skin elasticity, age, weight, and overall health. To undergo Liposuction surgery, you should be a good candidate. Person with weak immune system, heart or artery problems, diabetes, or a history of restricted blood flow should not undergo this surgery. You are said to be good candidate if you have fit, healthy and elastic skin. Women undergoing breast reduction and men suffering from gynecomastia can also proceed with Liposuction surgery.
It is best to know all the facts before undergoing any surgery. Liposuction surgery is not an alternative of dieting or exercise. The surgery should be performed when fat deposits do not respond anymore to dieting or exercising. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery that has side effects and possible complications, it should not be considered as weight loss plan. Consult your doctor before undergoing Liposuction. Generally surgeons perform this surgery on good candidates having good health and exercise regularly and are physically fit. Surgeon will not perform this surgery on those who are extremely overweight. Why is this so? This is because overweight patients are more inclined towards health problems and other diseases. This makes them unqualified for the operation. An overweight person should workout or diet to burn extra fats before they think of Liposuction surgery. Discuss all the important facts with your surgeon that you need to know before and after performing the surgery. Ask your doctor and collect all necessary information through internet or magazines which can be of utmost importance for you in making the decision if you really need to have this type of surgery. Once you have finally decided to undergo Liposuction, and performed all clinical tests and have been addressed as a good candidate for the surgery, ask him under what type of Liposuction surgery you fit in. There are many techniques of Liposuction surgery- tumescent liposuction, laser liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, and power-assisted liposuction; cost of the surgery varies depending on which form your surgeon suggests.
After Liposuction surgery, there are many points you should bear in mind. The surgery has side effects such as bruising and swelling which will fade away after few weeks, depending on the extent of the surgery performed on the body parts. Patients are suggested to wear elastic compression garments to reduce swelling and bleeding. The final result of the Liposuction surgery will appear usually after six months; however, in some cases the results would be already visible after a few weeks from surgery as the bruising and the swelling diminish. For many patients this surgery has shown positive results thereby making them feel great and improving their self-esteem all over again.
People should consider Liposuction as last option to reduce extra pounds. They should firstly change their diet regime and increase workout time. They should also be aware of the cost of the operation and learn about the possible risks involved during and after the surgery.

Vaser Lipo Frequently Asked Questions
Here at Riverbanks, prospective patients ask many questions about Vaser Liposuction, so we’ve put together this FAQ to answer the ones asked most.What is VASER Liposuction?VASER Liposuction is a highly sophisticated alternative to traditional liposuction. It uses ultrasound technology to emulsify the fat in your body. By turning the fat into a liquid, the fat can be easily removed from the body using a suction cannula.The technique selectively removes fat without damaging blood vessels, nerves and tissue. As a result of this, it creates far less trauma to the body and reduces the recovery times. VASER Liposuction can be used in many areas of the body, including the back, the abdomen, breasts and other areas that were previously difficult to sculpt with traditional methods.Is VASER Lipo better than Smart Lipo?It’s not a matter of ‘better’ per se; they are very different methods of removing fat from the body. Smart Lipo has some advantages over traditional liposuction, but VASER works differently in the way that it removes the fat and has more advantages than convention lipo and Smart laser solutions.Simply put, Smart Lipo uses a laser to break up the fat, whereas VASER Lipo uses ultrasound technology. VASER Lipo has demonstrated excellent recovery times, because it does not damage blood vessels, nerves or connective tissues when it is melting the fat.VASER Lipo is performed under local anaesthesia and greatly reduce risk and recovery times, compared with traditional liposuction.What can I expect during VASER LipoSelection recovery?In our experience, patients recover much faster when they have VASER LipoSelection, compared with patients that have experienced traditional liposuction. Unlike conventional liposuction, VASER patients are able to get light exercise within a few days and are fully back to normal within two weeks. Of course, they should keep their dressings on for the full six weeks.Because VASER is only minimally invasive, and tackles only your body fat, it reduces the trauma to the body, so pain is reduced. This means you will not need to take strong painkillers or numbing medications.What’s the difference between Liposuction, Liposculture and Liposelection?These are all marketing terms used within the cosmetic treatment industry for similar products.‘Liposuction’ is simply the term used for the frequently performed surgical procedure that removes unwanted fat from the body using a suction system.‘LipoSelection’ is a trade term that is associated with VASER, the advanced ultrasound technology that emulsifies body fat. Unlike traditional liposuction methods, it can be used on densely fibrous areas such as the back.‘Liposculpture’ is the term used for the technique of using superficial liposuction technology to define the patient’s muscles. How does VASER Liposelection differ from normal liposuction?Liposuction has been around for about the last 35 years. Originally plastic surgeons used small cuts in the patient’s skin to suck away large amounts of unwanted fat. Before this, the only way to remove fat was to cut it out, which left horrible, unsightly scarring. More recently a system of liposuction that uses sophisticated ultrasound technology has been introduced. This is known as VASER Liposuction, or ‘Liposelection’ as it is sometimes known by its trade term.VASER Lipo breaks down the fatty tissue in the body by using ultrasound. This turns it into a liquid and it is drained away using a cannula. Because VASER uses a non-invasive technology to liquefy the fat, it does not damage any other surrounding nerves or tissue. This means that there is far less bruising and swelling than conventional liposuction.Will I have tighter skin after using VASER LipoSelection?VASER is a medical device that uses ultrasound technology to liquefy the fat cells, with much less damage to surround tissues than traditional methods of liposuction. Those clinicians using VASER Lipo say that it does increase the tightening of the skin and reduces the amount of loose skin that follows conventional lipo. The results of VASER LipoSelection include a smoother skin and greater body contouring.What are the possible risks or side effects of VASER?It’s a reasonable question, should you be concerned about the risks or the potential side effects? VASER is now known as a safer, less invasive form of lipo and we’ve yet to find a patient that regretted undergoing this terrific new procedure.The side effects can include swelling, bruising and some fat drainage during the recovery period. But because VASER uses ultrasound technology, it does not damage the surrounding tissues and therefore, patients do not have to put up with the same level of pain, swelling and bruising that normal liposuction causes.Which areas of the body does VASER Liposelection work best on?Cosmetic physicians have achieved great success using VASER ultrasound technology to remove emulsified fat from many different areas of the body. We have had excellent success removing unwanted fatty tissue from the following areas:Abdomen, Thighs, Knees, Buttocks, Hips, Arms, Male Breast Area, Love Handles, Chin and Neck areas.However, due to the safe, non-invasive method that VASER uses, we perceive that it can be used on practically any area of the body where unwanted fat is stored.How long will it take to see the results of VASER Liposelection?You will see immediate results, although there is a minor amount of swelling for about a week after the procedure. When the swelling reduces and any bruising clears up, the results will become clear. Within the six months after the VASER lipo treatment, the collagen in the skin will grow and the skin surrounding the area will tighten to fit your next sculpted shape.Are the results of VASER lipo permanent?Let’s be clear about the type of results that you are seeking. Liposuction or LipoSelection are not for weight loss. They reduce the amount of body fat by emulsifying the existing fat and draining it out of the body as a liquid.Those patients that are significantly disappointed with any kind of lipo procedure are those that put on considerable weight after their treatment. Remember, when you lose fat through lipo treatments, you can still put the weight back on. You should combine any treatment with a healthy diet and exercise regime for the greatest future success.For more information on Vaser Lipo, or to book a consultation, contact Dr Ravi Jain of Riverbanks Clinic on 01582 762 877 or visit our website at http://www.riverbanksclinic.co.uk

Is liposuction the answer to your belly fat problem or is there a better way for you?
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty (”fat modeling”), liposculpture suction lipectomy or simply lipo (”suction-assisted fat removal”) is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes fat from many different sites on the human body. Areas affected can range from the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, to the neck, backs of the arms and elsewhere. Suction-assisted lipectomy of bilateral outer thighs
Several factors limit the amount of fat that can be safely removed in one session. Ultimately, the operating physician and the patient make the decision. There are negative aspects to removing too much fat. Unusual “lumpiness” and/or “dents” in the skin can be seen in those patients “over-suctioned”. The more fat removed, the higher the surgical risk.
The safety of the technique relates not only to the amount of tissue removed, but to the choice of anesthetic and the patient’s overall health. It is ideal for the patient to be as fit as possible before the procedure and not to have smoked for several months.
Not everyone is a good candidate for liposuction. It is not a good alternative to dieting or exercising. To be a good candidate, one must usually be over 18 and in good general health, have tried a diet and exercise regime, and have found that the last 10 or 15 pounds persist in certain pockets on the body. Diabetes, any infection, heart or circulation problems, generally nullify one’s eligibility for the procedure. In older people, the skin is usually less elastic, limiting the ability of the skin to readily tighten around the new shape. In this case, other procedures can be added to the liposuction, such as an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
A side effect, as opposed to a complication, is medically minor, although it can be uncomfortable, annoying, and even painful.
* Bruising: can be painful in the short term, and should fade after a few weeks.
* Swelling: should subside gradually over a month or two.
* Scars: will vary in size depending on the particular procedure, and should fade over the weeks.
Scarring is an individual thing, partly dependent on heredity. For some, scar healing may take as long as a year.
* Pain: should be temporary and controlled by either over-the-counter medication, or by a prescription.
* Numbness: sometimes persists for a few weeks.
* Limited mobility: will depend on the exact procedure.
There could be various factors limiting movement for a short while, such as:
* Wearing a compression garment
* Keeping the head elevated
* Temporary swelling or pain
The surgeon should advise on how soon the patient can resume normal activity.
What’s the cost? Could run you around $5,000 for the procedure (costs will be higher depending on the complexity of the procedure).
There are some alternatives to lipo for getting rid of belly fat. So what’s the magic formula for reducing your belly fat?
Ultimately, while there are a few basic principles to keep in mind when it comes to nutrition and weight loss, losing belly fat requires that you take in fewer calories than you burn. Don’t be seduced into following an overly complicated diet masquerading under the guise of a “new and revolutionary” approach to weight loss.
Here are some basic tips for losing belly fat.
1. Don’t eat too fast – Eating quickly and not chewing your food well can cause air swallowing that leads to bloating. So slow down and enjoy your food. Your meals should last at least 30 minutes. Also, keep in mind that digestion begins in the mouth, and you can decrease bloating just by chewing your food more. There’s another benefit to slowing things down:
When you take your time to thoroughly chew and taste your food, your snack or meal becomes more satisfying. And studies have shown that if you eat more slowly, you may end up eating less.
2. Don’t overdo carbonated drinks – The fizz in carbonated drinks (even diet ones) can cause gas to get trapped in your belly. Instead, drink water flavored with lemon, lime, or cucumber. Or just reduce the number of fizzy drinks you consume each day. Try some peppermint tea for a soothing beverage that may help reduce bloat.
3. Eat smaller meals more often – Instead of three big meals per day, try eating smaller meals more often. This can keep you free of the bloated feeling that often follows large meals (think Thanksgiving). Eating more frequently can also help control blood sugar and manage hunger.
So go for five to six small meals each day, but make sure the quantity of food and calories are proportionate to your needs. To create a daily meal plan that includes the recommended amounts of all major nutrients, visit the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “my pyramid” web site.
4. Exercise
Perform proper crunches at least 3 times a week to train your abs. Avoid sit-ups because they really do very little to firm your stomach. Sit-ups work your hip flexors more than anything else. Walk/jog for 30 minutes at least 3 times per week to boost your metabolism in order to burn that fat.
5. Adjust your attitude
Ride out a craving. A cookie might make a stressful day feel brighter – but before giving in hold off a little before indulging. If you still want the cookie after 15 minutes, go ahead and eat it. Waiting helps develop the capacity to delay gratification.
Finally, you’ll need to be consistent. To lose belly fat, eating right and exercising regularly needs to become a habit, not just something you do when you can be bothered or when you “have the time.” If your current schedule makes it difficult to find the time for exercise, change it. Get out of bed earlier. Turn off the TV. Stop wasting time on Facebook.
Liposuction although as appealing as it is may not be the right way to go for you. If you follow some basic guidelines ans stick with it you can lose your belly fat and keep the $5,000 or so dollars you would spend on a nice vacation. You will also be healthier and happier that you did it with-out surgery.
If you want the REAL truth on eating strategically for permanent fat loss, take a look at the resources at http://www.good-bye-belly-fat.info and find ways to lose Body Fat the smart and effective way.
Enjoy, and best of luck with your journey to a healthier and happier you.

Growing a Plastic Surgery Practice
Plastic Surgeons have suffered in this down economy. That is, plastic surgeons that haven’t learned how to properly market their practice, have suffered during this down economy. Now more than ever, not only are proper marketing strategies critical to a practice’s success, but there is also a unique window of opportunity, as many plastic surgeons will reduce their marketing efforts to “weather the storm,” thereby creating a clearer and less cluttered competitive landscape for those insightful enough to take advantage of today’s business climate.
One of the best ways to capture new patients is through referral programs, both targeted toward existing patients and to other healthcare professionals. Yet in over 21 years of healthcare marketing experience, we have seen few practices that have an on-going, effective and workable referral program in place.
A successful referral program depends on many key factors, including the development of the proper support materials, identifying a key individual to “take ownership” of the program, and staff training and involvement.
We have seen the practice representation element of referral programs yield high dividends. This strategy involves a knowledgeable individual making regular visits to potential referring practices and businesses, engaging in meaningful dialogue, and gaining the trust of the gatekeeper that controls the referrals.
We recently implemented a program for a physician in a major metropolitan area, and within a few days, we had his telephone ringing with appointments.
Patient-to-Patient referral programs are also widely misunderstood, and not well utilized by most practices. We have found that with a sound, well-developed, and strategically correct referral plan in place, practice volume and revenues can rise by as much as 25% within a very short time.
Think about it: Many practices offer multiple services… but how many of your patients and potential referring sources really know about all of the services you provide, such as:
* Abdominoplasty
* Liposuction/Liposculpture
* Buttock Augmentation
* Arm Tuck
* Labiaplasty and Vaginal Rejuvenation
* Breast Augmentation
* Breast Reduction
* Breast Lift
* Implant Revision
* Face Lift
* Eyelid Surgery
* Otoplasty
* Thread Lift
* Fillers and Botox
* Lip Augmentation
* Laser Skin Treatments
* Hair Removal
* Spa Services
* And more
A referral program is a great way to help your patients and professional referral sources know about the wide range of services you offer. Of course, referral programs should just be a portion of a well-designed marketing program that will grow your practice profits through evidence-based and proven strategies.
